The makers of Hormel Chili have partnered up with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, NFFF, to put on a nationwide chili recipe contest for active firefighters. The contest provides a chance to highlight the underappreciated cooking talents of firefighters across the country, while also giving them a chance to win $10,000 for their station. AJ Fusco, of the Harrison Fire Department, has advanced to the semifinals of the contest.
This means participants are now part of the online voting phase; from now through Friday, July 21, consumers can vote once per day on their favorite recipe by visiting hormel.com/firehousechili. Firefighters with the top three recipes will then go to New York City in late August to compete in a live chili cook-off for a chance at the grand prize of $10,000 for their station. In addition to the prizing, Hormel Chili is also making a donation of $20,000 to the NFFF to support their efforts.

More information on the contest can be found by following Hormel Chili on Facebook.
