Cancer Support Team, CST, is hosting its 19th Annual Gayle K. Lee Health Awareness Luncheon on Oct. 12 at a new location: the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club.  This year’s presentation begins at 11:30 a.m. with featured speaker Dr. Wendy S. Harpham, who will be discussing the healing power of hope.

Harpham is a doctor of internal medicine, a 27-year cancer survivor, best-selling author, nationally recognized speaker and patient advocate.  She has devoted her career to helping people with cancer get good care and live as fully as possible.

Harpham will be speaking about hope, healing and the promise of healthy survivorship. Attendees will be introduced to new ways of thinking about hope, as well as ways to overcome obstacles of hope. Harpham will offer insights and tips on using hope in healing ways, whatever the challenge, illness-related or not. After hearing her presentation, attendees will leave understanding why Harpham insists there is always hope.

The Luncheon’s honorary chair is Mary Jane Arrigoni of Greenwich, Connecticut. The co-chairs are Val Allen of Larchmont, and Newport, Rhode Island, and Alice Letondot of Larchmont. Tickets for the Luncheon are $125, a portion of which is tax-deductible. Seating is limited and reservations are required.  If you would like more information about this topic or CST please check out our website CancerSupportTeam.org or call Julie Meade at 777-2777, or email her at JMeade@cancersupportteam.org.
