Parker to host Playland Town Hall

Last December, Westchester County and Standard Amusement reached a settlement agreement over the management of Rye Playland Park.

Part of the process to amend the original agreement with Standard Amusement requires the Westchester County Board of Legislators to approve the amended contract.  Since the beginning of this year, the Board of Legislators has held 26 public committee meetings to discuss
the new contract.

The committees involved have been Parks & Recreation, Budget & Appropriations, and the Law & Major Contracts Committees.  The link to the Board of Legislators web site is located at https://westchestercountyny.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.  You can search for references
to Playland for This Year for All Meeting Bodies.  The meetings found will allow you to read the agenda and minutes for all meetings, as well as view the video of the meetings that were recorded.

The Board of Legislators has spent a lot of time discussing the new contract and has done so in a very transparent way so as to ensure that the public has all the information they require.  Over the past few months, comments from the public have been accepted in spoken and
written form.  Now as we approach the final Board of Legislators meeting on this subject, I will be holding this Playland Town Hall for residents to be heard and for me to listen.  The event will take place on Tuesday, April 6 at 7 p.m.

I hope you can attend and am looking forward to hearing from you on Playland Park, the crown jewel of the Westchester County Parks system.  To register for this event, click on the link that follows and then on the Register button.
