On May 25, Harrison’s baseball season came to an end falling in a 6-4 heartbreaker to No. 2 seed John Jay in the Class A semifinals.

The Huskies got off to a good start, plating a run in the top of the first inning, but John Jay struck back quickly, tying the game in the bottom half of the frame and taking a 5-1 lead by the end of the second inning.

Although the Huskies battled back to make it a two-run game heading into the final inning, John Jay’s Justin Drpich—who had previously homered in the game—came on to close out the game, giving up a leadoff walk before striking out two batters and popping up another to preserve an Indians win.

With the win, John Jay advanced to the Class A championship game, which was held on Saturday, May 28 at Palisades Credit Union Park in Pomona, New York.

Thanks to an impressive mound performance from sophomore Ryan Bryggman, who threw just 89 pitches, the Indians blanked Brewster and captured the Class A title with an 8-0 win.
