Rotary Club, Rye Arts Center Announce Rye’s Above Benefit

The Rotary Club of Rye and The Rye Arts Center announced the Rye’sAbove program will conclude at a Benefit and Close of Auction event to be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Wainwright House in Rye, overlooking the gorgeous grounds and Long Island Sound.

Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, wine, a raffle and music by The Arcadia Jazz Trio in the enchanting setting of The Wainwright House, surrounded by the 36 beautiful Rye’sAbove butterflies for their final stop before they are awarded to their highest bidders. Guests will have the opportunity to meet and speak with the artists who created these magnificent pieces of art as well as event sponsors and volunteers.

The Rye’sAbove butterfly auction closes just before dusk that evening at the Wainwright House event. This will be the final opportunity to bid on the butterflies. Winning bidders can take their butterfly home that evening or make arrangements to pick them up at The Rye Arts Center following the event.

“The goal of Rye’sAbove has been to beautify and uplift the community while supporting educational and scholarship programs,” said Michele Thomas, president of the Rye Rotary and one of the producers of the event. “We are delighted the project has been met with so much interest and has been embraced by the Rye community and beyond.”

According to Adam Levi, executive director of The Rye Arts Center, “Our Benefit and Close of Auction Event to be held on September 29 will be a wonderful opportunity for members of the community to meet and chat with the exceptionally dedicated artists who decorated these spectacular sculptures. It will also be the conclusion of the online auction that has been running throughout the summer. So, there is only limited time left to make your bids.”

Bidding for the Rye’sAbove butterflies is available until the evening of Sept. 29 at https://www.accelevents.com/e/ryesabove2022. Proceeds from Rye’sAbove will be split between The Rye Rotary and the Rye Arts Center and used for each organization’s scholarship and educational programs. A portion of this year’s proceeds received by the Rye Rotary will be used for Ukrainian war relief.

Tickets to the Rye’sAbove Benefit and Close of Auction Event are $100 each.
