Rye Arts Center awarded $422K state grant to build new campus

The Rye Arts Center (RAC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $422,000 Capital Projects Grant from the
New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support the design phase of The RAC’s widely anticipated Campus Expansion
Project. The highly competitive grant represents a significant endorsement by New York State of the project’s vision and community impact, bringing the organization one step closer to creating a transformative cultural destination that will serve children, families, artists, and residents for generations to come.

This bold new vision is designed to meet growing demand for arts programming while strengthening The Rye Arts Center’s role as a cultural and educational resource for Rye, Westchester County, and beyond. When completed, RAC’s new campus
and sustainable structure will be home to state-ofthe-art art studios, makerspace and digital medialabs, a dedicated wing for
preschool arts, and expanded programming for senior arts.

The new campus will also include a flexible performance space with professional lighting, sound, and seating, as well
as a contemporary gallery to host regional exhibitions. Perhaps most unique of all, the campus project will create two new acres of public green space, including a sculpture garden, outdoor studio, and performance lawn.

“New York’s powerful arts and culture sector is a formidable asset,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Our continued investments in museums, theaters, and art centers generate incredible returns — sparking innovation, boosting local economies,
driving visitors, and making us the global epicenter of arts and culture.”

“This grant is a powerful signal — from New York State and our entire arts community — that artistic and cultural expression
can and will thrive in Rye for generations to come,” said Adam Levi, Executive Director, The Rye Arts Center.

”This grant accelerates the project’s evolution from aspiration to action, and for that, we are deeply grateful to the Governor,
NYSCA, and all of our local supporters.”
