Harrison’s boys soccer team couldn’t wait to get out on the field for the 2025 season, and after their performance against Eastchester in the season-opener on Sept. 2, it’s not hard to understand why.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Huskies continued right where they left off this summer, authoring a decisive 3-0 win over the Eagles to start the season on a high note. It didn’t long for the visitors to strike first, getting their first goal just seven minutes into the proceedings when Boyle Ellis buried the rebound on a corner chance to give the Huskies they wouldn’t relinquish.

Mylo Langlais followed suit four minutes later and Arata Yamazaki added one in the second half for good measure as the Huskies continued to roll. Keeper Ryan Sottile said that, after the team’s performance in the Lakeland Summer League—Harrison ran the table and allowed just two goals en route to a summer title—the team’s eager to show what they could do once the varsity schedule kicked off this fall.
“After winning the Lakeland Summer League, we’re building off that momentum; we came in today looking to score a lot of goals,” said Sottile. “This is my fourth year, I feel like this is one of the best Harrison teams that I’ve played for.“
“We came in strong and we are building off that momentum,” added Sottile. “We expected to score a lot of goals and put them away early.”
Gavin Ensign said the Boyle’s early strike set the tone, and the added benefit of a big second half lead meant that Harrison was able to go to the bench and get some of the team’s younger players valuable game experience.
“I think it definitely set us up for the half, and then in the second half, we were able to bring in the rest of our guys and keep that same momentum,” said Ensign. “I think that’s going to set us up for the rest of the season.”
Eastchester will look to bounce back from the loss in the opener on Friday, when they travel to White Plains to take on the Tigers. Harrison will host Pelham on Thursday, Sept. 4 as they aim to continue their winning ways.
“I think this team can win it all,” said Sottile. “We gave up two goals in 12 games over the summer, we didn’t give up any today, our defense is playing well and we have two center backs who are making an impact.”
